Daniel L. Flugstad, M.D.

Daniel Flugstad, M.D., is an orthopedic surgeon who is part of the medical center's active surgical team. He is also the current chief of orthopedics at Swedish's First Hill campus.
His clinical and research interests include musculoskeletal oncology, bone allograft reconstructive surgery, total joint replacement surgery, operative arthroscopy and shoulder surgery. He is board-certified in orthopedic surgery.
Dr. Flugstad has a private orthopedic/musculoskeletal practice at The Polyclinic, an 80-member, multispecialty medical clinic. He is also a clinical assistant professor of orthopedic surgery at the University of Washington (U.W.) Medical School.
After earning his bachelor's degree from U.W., Dr. Flugstad earned his medical degree and did his internship and residency at the U.W. Medical School. His other postgraduate training included a fellowship in the Orthopedic Oncology program at the Harvard School of Medicine.
Among his other affiliations, Dr. Flugstad is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Association of Tissue Banking, the Musculoskeletal Tumor Society, the Washington Orthopedic Association, the Seattle Surgical Society, the King County Medical Society, the Washington State Medical Association and the American Medical Society.
