Pediatric Clinical Nurse Specialist

Nicole Roehrig is the Pediatric Clinical Nurse Specialist at Swedish. Nicole began her healthcare career as a volunteer in a trauma-surgical intensive care unit at the University of New Mexico Hospital. She then became a medical technician/ EMT in the United States Air Force where she served for four years. She began her nursing and pediatric career in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit in Albuquerque, NM, which is where she is from. In 2008, Nicole received her master’s of science in nursing degree from the University of New Mexico with a focus on nursing education. Nicole has been a travel nurse in several organizations before moving to Seattle in 2010.

3rd Annual Holidays at the Hospital at Swedish

We hope you can join us for a winter wonderland celebration for Swedish Pediatric patients, families, & friends!

This is a fun, festive holiday celebration for the community that will feature:

  • Photos with Santa
  • Carolers
  • Teddy Bear Clinic
  • Cookie decorating
  • Face painting
  • Holiday activities and crafts tables
  • Plus, we’ll have a super special guest from the Seattle Sounders, Roger Levesque!

We’ll also be collecting toys for children up to age 18 as well as donations for art supplies and games. Donated items will be given to children at the hospital receiving care and treatment.

Why do babies cry?

Did you know that all babies cry? Some will cry more than others, but parents and caregivers need to have a plan for what to do if the crying becomes too frustrating. On April 19th, Swedish is implementing a new program called The Period of PURPLE Crying to teach families about a normal, developmental phase of increased crying that all babies go through.
