For me family practice is a unique specialty focusing on the family as an entity. In family practice I can have an ongoing relationship with my patients; I can encourage them to create a healthier environment for themselves and their families rather than just treating their illness. The people I care for, regardless of station or class, are my equal in dignity, and together we are partners in making them well. That means I will always listen to their questions, communicate with them, respect their choices and be sympathetic to their concerns.
