Hello, I’m Hilda Davis, and I am grateful that you are looking into having a doula as a part of your care team! I am an African Diaspora-centered, community-oriented birth and postpartum doula invested in personalized care for all, and I am committed to ensuring people have empowering birth and postpartum experiences. Inspired by my own birth and postpartum experiences, I completed birth and postpartum training at Bastyr University to better support community members during their birth and postpartum experiences. From the intensity of the birth experience to the delicate postpartum period, my goal is to help create a nurturing environment that honors your choices and celebrates the beauty of new beginnings. I believe in the strength and resilience of all people and the importance of gentle and compassionate care. My educational background is rooted in social work, education, history, and creative writing, and I make use of evidence-based practices and traditional approaches in my work. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, traveling, cooking, and spending time with my family. Care work, cultural work, social justice advocacy, and creativity are my passions, and being able to support people during the vulnerable and exciting experiences of birth and the postpartum period is an honor.
