Maritza Cajiao

Maritza has served the community as a doula for 5 years and has worked with over 260 families. She was born and raised in Colombia where she worked as an EMT for several years, she speaks English and Spanish. Her work as a birth doula is her passion. "From conception to birth, I never cease to be surprised by this physiological process, so natural but at the same time so unique for each future parent." Trained and certified through Big Belly Services and NAPS, she enjoys working with new parents, parents with multiple children, clients seeking a vaginal birth after cesarean section (VBAC), people interested in an unmedicated birth, as well as those who know they want to use pain relievers during the birth experience. Familiar with different ancestral practices such as rebozo, aromatherapy, acupressure, regardless of their origin or history, Maritza loves helping parents feel confident, respected, listened to, and safe in this important stage of their life.
