About Elena D. Geamanu
An endocrinologist is a physician who specializes in diagnosing and managing hormone imbalances – diseases that affect your glands. This can include many conditions related to obesity such as diabetes, lipid disorders and thyroid disease. Dr. Geamanu believes in partnering with patients to first fully educate them about hormone imbalances and diseases caused by obesity, and then to develop individualized treatments plans that may include diet, exercise and prescribed medications when appropriate. “Obesity is our greatest health concern,” says Dr. Geamanu. “My goal is to help educate patients about how to prevent obesity through diet and exercise. Prevention is the key to success.”

Dr. Geamanu is one of the smartest specialists I have seen. She believes in helpful medicine, but doesn't push unnecessary meds on me. She listens to my concerns and paves a pathway to achieve my desired health. I only see her every couple of years now... Because my condition is stable (thanks to her).

And sometimes she sounds rude and raise her voice to me when I ask her questions that I didn't understand what she trying to tell me. I've been with Dr Geamanu for 7 or 8 years, and I cannot praise her enough. She's made my diabetic journey much easier, and I couldn't be in better hands. She doesn't give up looking for reasons why I have certain symptoms, and she listens to my concerns. It took some time to get to the Hoshimoto diagnosis, but she kept asking relevant questions and tested various things until we found the answer. I would truly hate to have to find another endocrinologist because Dr Geamanu is a gem and I feel like a very lucky patient!
