The provider (Johnny) took time to review my medical history and brought up notes from my previous check up/routine care. He also took time to listen to possible concerns I had and asked follow up questions to make sure he understood before answering. His answers went over some of the technical/medical side while also providing additional explanation if I was confused or did not understand at first.

I have been sick with a really bad cold and came in after a few weeks to check in. I was overwhelmed by the significant level of customer service that this provider gave me while I was sick. He should be conducting trainings, but don't take him out of the field for Customer Service. Bravo! He felt like a new model for how providers connect with patients.

I really value the care I receive from Dr. Shum, he is such a blessing to have as a Dr.

I am relatively new to Swedish Primary Care and Dr. Shum. Having said this, for the first time in a few years, feel confident in my primary care physician. He is thoughtful, asks great questions and is smart as he talks about my general health now and the future as someone turning 70 next month. It is reassuring.

Dr. Shum was such an attentive provider for it being just a general wellness visit. Im very glad to have found him as a PCP moving forward.

This office is run very well and I recommend it without reservation. When I call, I talk to a real person right away. If I need an appointment that day, I call at 8 am and usually am able to get in to see someone due to cancellations. The physicians are excellent, as is the people working at the blood lab. Outstanding.

I came in with a very tight back muscle that had been giving me quite a bit of pain for over a week. Dr. Shum's advice to relieve it worked immediately as soon as I was able to do it at home.

I have had only great experiences with my doctor, he is so kind and so gentle as well as the nurse that he has with him. He did my Pap smear very gently and didn't cause me any discomfort at all or bleeding afterwards. He also is very knowledgeable about a lot of health questions I asked him which I really appreciated! I liked him so much as a doctor that I scheduled my husband an appointment with him as well!

Dr. Shum is fantastic! The MAs there are typically a little grouchy though, to be honest.

I am a complex, challenging patient. Dr. Shum does an outstanding job of tracking all the pieces that need to come together to get me healthier. He has patiently and diligently worked with me to learn how to respond to complex, time-sensitive paperwork hurdles and respond appropriately. This takes away loads of stress and helps me refocus on rehabilitation, which is all I can handle right now. His sunny, hopeful outlook always brightens my day. Thank you, Dr. Shum!!!!!
