About Meng Zhao
Meng Zhao, MD, PhD, joined Providence Swedish in July 2020. She received her medical degree from the Tongji University School of Medicine in Shanghai, China. Dr. Zhao completed an Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, and then went on to study Oncology and Hematology at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center and Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, OH. She is board certified by the American Board of Medical Oncology, and the American Board of Hematology. She is also a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology. She earned a PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology at the University of Texas at Austin in Austin, TX.
Philosophy of Care: Dr. Zhao focuses on personalized care and shared decision-making. She engages in open dialogues with patients and their families to discuss diagnoses and treatment options. Dr. Zhao blends clinical excellence with compassion and empathy. Her mission is to enhance the outcomes and quality of life for cancer patients and their families throughout their journey. Dr. Zhao, a skilled clinical researcher, previously held the role of clinical research director and principal investigator for diverse clinical trials. Now, in Swedish Cancer Institute, she continues her cancer research journey, benefiting patients with a robust clinical trials program and cutting-edge treatments.
