About Tanya A. Wahl
Dr. Wahl is a native of the Pacific Northwest and a perennial winner of the Seattle Met Top Doctor award. Dr. Wahl graduated from the University of Washington with a BS in Technical Communication and attended Duke School of Medicine in Durham, North Carolina. There she received a Stead Scholarship and a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Research Fellowship, studying cell signal transduction in yeast. She completed Internal Medicine Residency and Chief Residency at Stanford University Hospital and Medical Center in Palo Alto, California and returned to Seattle to complete her Hematology Fellowship at University of Washington/Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.
Dr. Wahl is Board Certified in Medical Oncology and has been in practice since 2003. She is happy to care for patients with any cancer diagnosis and has a special interest in breast cancer, gynecologic malignancies and clinical research. She particularly enjoys working with patients collaboratively in order to optimize the quality of the care they receive.

Dr Wahl is an excellent physician who has helped me through what was originally a scary diagnosis. I still have some anxiety about it, but she has helped me deal with it, and the treatment seems to be working well. I sincerely appreciate her taking the time to answer my questions and put my mind at ease.One other thing that I really appreciate: When I go to check in for my appointment, I am asked for my name first, not my date of birth. I find the latter highly impersonal and in a sense insulting, but it is common elsewhere, including one of the other major hospital systems in the area. Thank you for being different and treating patients with respect!

Dr. Wahl and her team and office personnel are fantastic. Everyone treats patients with care and understanding. A great example is the providing me with the flexibility to collect my urine samples before leaving the house in the morning for my follow-up appointments instead of making me produce a sample on command which has proven difficult for me. Dr Wahl also advocates for my health in all areas, not just related to my cancer treatment. For example, she helped me with a referral to another physician for my shoulder pain which was unrelated to my cancer. She has also provided me with other referrals as needed. She and her team rock!
