The opportunity to care for my patients is truly a privilege; to get to deeply know someone personally, to have them trust me with their care and health, is an honor I take seriously. It's what makes my role as a primary care physician so rewarding. As an internal medicine specialist, I enjoy the opportunity to participate in my patients' healthcare throughout the scope of their adult life and to see them through healthier as well as perhaps more difficult times of need as their lives evolve. I strive to be my patients' advocate and educator while respecting their own autonomy. Dr Beer is double board certified in Internal Medicine and Integrative Medicine. This allows her to provide a holistic approach to the primary medical care of her patients.

What is more challenging is scheduling appointments as quickly as I might like at times, due to staff shortages and therefore her busier schedule than it used to be.

Dr. Beer is an exceptional physician whose expertise and genuine care have always made a difference in my health and well-being. While I'm thrilled for her as she approaches her well-deserved retirement in February, I can't help but feel a bit anxious about finding a new primary care physician. It would be incredibly helpful if Swedish could provide a list of potential PCPs for patients in situations like this. Transitioning to a new doctor can be quite stressful, and having some guidance during this time would ease the process significantly.

Always top-notch, professional but with a personal touch.I would note that I sat in the examination room for longer than I had hoped after having my vitals taken before Dr. Beer arrived. But since it was a routine wellness check scheduled early in the morning, it was not a big issue for me and once she arrived, she was thorough, focused and very helpful and gave me as much time as I needed - no sense that she needed to hurry off to see for another patient.

My regular internist was not available and I had what I thought was an eye infection. Dr. Beer had time in her schedule and fit me in. She looked at my eyes very carefully. She explained to me why she thought the problem was an allergic reaction and not an infection. She told me that although she did not find a problem with my vision, she recommended I go to my eye doctor so he could look more closely. As a result of her referring me to the eye doctor, I ended up getting treatment for the severe inflammation in my eyes.
