Her clinical interests focus on skin cancer and solid tumor immunotherapy while Dr. Paulson’s appreciation lies in the ability to establish meaningful connections with patients and their families, throughout their care.
Dr. Paulson firmly believes that optimal cancer care is achieved through a collaborative, team-based approach and takes great joy in working alongside an interdisciplinary team of dedicated healthcare professionals. Recognizing the pivotal role of patients in their own care, she is committed to transparent communication, ensuring that everyone understands the "how and why" behind their personalized treatment plans.
In addition to her clinical role, Dr. Paulson is a skilled clinical researcher, serving as the Principal Investigator for various clinical trials aimed at bringing the latest advancements in cancer care and the lead for the Center for Immuno-Oncology at the Paul G Allen Research Center. Furthermore, she is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of medical professionals, actively supporting medical students at the Washington State University Elson E. Floyd Medical School in Everett, particularly in advancing their understanding of emerging immunotherapies.
In 2023, Dr. Kelly Paulson was honored as the inaugural recipient of the Jeff Ward Award, established to memorialize him. This distinguished award acknowledges medical staff members who contribute positively to the Edmonds community through exceptional leadership, mentorship, or improvements in patient care. Also, she is a 2024 Castle Connolly Top Doctor. Dr. Paulson sees patients at the Edmonds and First Hill Swedish Cancer Institute locations.

I only had one issue with the clerks etc. They wanted proof I was still covered by insurance and as a patient, it's not my responsibility in getting extra paper work confirming I was convered when all they had to do was call my insurance. That's their job, they had all my insurance info. Other than that, my wife and I are thankful having Dr. Paulson. She is smart, thorough, to the point, and detailed in everything regarding my cancer. Wife and I Love her work ethic. no complaints with her.
