Watch video: Hundreds lace up for fun and fitness at the Rave Green Run

The event's proceeds support the Sounders' RAVE Foundation, the club's official chartable arm, which promotes soccer as a vehicle to inspire youth and strengthen communities.  

Providence Swedish and the Seattle Sounders FC brought together hundreds of runners and walkers of all ages and sizes for a day of fitness at this year's Seattle Sounders FC Rave Green Run, presented by Providence Swedish. 

Held on Sept. 8 at the Providence Swedish Performance Center & Clubhouse in Renton, the event featured a 5k race for adults, Sammy’s One Mile Kids Dash for the littles and a fun-filled after-race festival for everyone. This marked the first year Providence Swedish served as the presenting sponsor.

Ahead of the race, Providence Swedish doctors and physical therapists led a stretching session to help ensure that everyone was warmed up and ready to go. After crossing the finish line, runners and supporters gathered at the Finish Live Festival for a host of post-race wellness activities, games and entertainment. 

The festival featured vendor booths, refreshments, meet-and-greet with former Sounders players, yard games, an emoji wall, and fun race awards. Providence Swedish also hosted a cool-down session that included guided Tai Chi exercises to help Ravers recover after the race.
