Spinal Cord Stimulation

Swedish provides a Spinal Cord Stimulation Program to assess the appropriateness for spinal cord or peripheral nerve stimulation for chronic pain. The program assesses if other treatment options have failed to relieve chronic pain. Conservative therapies such as medication, psychology, physical therapy and occupational therapy will be done before any trial or permanent implantation. Prior to a permanent spinal cord stimulation implant, a trial is done with functional testing to assess whether conservative therapies worked.
